Back in April I went on vacation to Costa Rica (it was amazing, I encourage you to go!). When I was thinking about essentials that I wanted to pack I thought of a clay mask. I feel like I need to do a deep cleansing mask once a week. I didn’t want to bring my big bottle of the Origins Clear Improvement Clay Mask (review to come), so I thought I would bring the travel sized Clinique one I had sitting around to try out. I didn’t have high hopes for it and no, I don’t know why. I guess I just really enjoy my Origins one and was thinking it wouldn’t be comparable. WELL! Results wise I believe that this is comparable. It did a fantastic job of purging the gunk stuck in my face. I mean, I was trekking up mountains in Costa Rica and I was pretty grimy mid week. This stuff seemed to have brought my skin back into check while scaring off any blemishes that were attempting to surface. The texture was different then I was used to – which is a thick mud like mask. It was thin in texture almost like a calamine lotion, and I found it dried super quickly. Which is good I guess because it only recommends you keep it on for 5 minutes and then rinse it off. So not only efficient but quick! Fantastic for vacation – I was even happier I had brought this along! Once it was washed off my face there was no tackiness and my face did not feel dry or tight. Over all, I would buy the full sized product. I thought it did exactly what it was meant to do in 5 minutes. It’s oil free and very gentle. If you’re in the market for a clay based mask – consider this!
I don’t know if you guys remember, but last month I got a Clinique TopBox. In that box I got the Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Like Mink.
So excited to try this product but not too impressed with its outcome. The colours are pretty, soft and blend beautifully. The issue – pigment.
I had to layer each of these colours many times so that the camera could even pick it up. Especially that lightest colour. I don’t even know if it’s worth having in your collection. There isn’t any fall out, they’re not chalky, but if i’m going to pay $25 for a duo, I want some pay off. I’m glad I got this in a TopBox because I have wanted to try them and would have been super disappointed if I had to shell out that kind of money for minimal pay off. I wouldn’t buy another product from the Duo’s unless they changed the pigment.
This Topbox actually put a smile on my face. I opened up the wrapping, and typed against the light pink paper was the word……Clinique. Now to just open it and see if the stuff is nice! Just a quick note, I’m finding that I’m lacking when it comes to updating what I’ve tried in my Topbox. So I’m going to try to review items I haven’t tried when I make my new Topbox posts (on that note, I JUST opened this box, so I haven’t tried any of it). If that makes sense. On with it then!

Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector
I received 7ml and 30ml retails for $57 and 50ml retails for $86.
It claims: Potent serum gives every skin a second chance against lines, wrinkles, sun damage. In 4 weeks, see obvious reduction in lines, wrinkles, improved texture. At 12 weeks, the visible wrinkle-reducing power is remarkably close to a dermatological laser procedure. 63%, to be exact. Different commitment, different results. And yet impressive results guaranteed.
I haven’t decided yet what to do with this product. I may give it to my mother or my bestfriends mother and ask for feedback. I don’t think i’ll notice anything with the Wrinkle and UV Damage.
So that’s what I got and overall, I was impressed. Relieved as well. I thought for sure after the last box I was going to have to cancel. But they redeemed themselves and really, 2 out of 3 boxes were good. I’m excited to try all these things and to let you know how they all work!
