It’s been 6 days since I’ve blogged. It’s felt like forever, what about you? I somehow in those 6 days acquired some items. So this isn’t so much a review of anything because I’ve been so busy I haven’t even worn make up for 5 out of 6 of those days! So let’s get on with it. This is what has cluttered my apartment somewhere, somehow in the last bit.
I did in fact buy these scarves in black and cream. I loved them so much I had to have both colours. Yes, they both have those skulls on them and I LOVE that they’re subtle. Garage
They were having a 2 for $30 on the 3 wick candles AND I had a $20 coupon, yay! I also loved the shell plug in because my bathroom is beach themed. I got six scents with it, which I won’t show pictures for but, they are : Honeysuckle, Spring, Coconut Leaves, Lilac Blossom, Island Margarita and White Barn. Bath and Body Works
I also got a pair of jeans, 2 bras and 5 undies which I will just leave out of this lol.
In the mail I got:
The Body Shop was having a huge 50% Off Online sale a while back and I had a $10 coupon, so, yay again!
Lastly, look what was in the mail today!
I know…..a lot of stuff. I will hopefully have reviews for some of the aesthetic stuff soon!!!! Hope you’re all having a great day!
So I don’t know if any of you remember but my January Julep Maven box never got to me. So, I contacted Julep and the very nice and friendly staff member sent me a new one. I received it today – yay! So I received Fiona which is a electric lime neon green crème, Teresa which is an opaque pink pearl frost and a hand and cuticle stick which is meant to moisturize and protect your skin while restoring a youthful appearance to your hands. It also contains Vitamin C and E to nourish and soothe. I have not used any of the products yet but I think I’m going to be in love with Teresa. It’s SUCH a beautiful colour. The hand and cuticle moisturizer feels good between my fingers but I will have to update once i’ve used it for a bit on my hands. It does however smell AMAZING. Kind of like almond oil but with a hint of something tropical. I love it.
I did also receive stickers to swatch polish colours on and 3 hair ties that are neon green, neon orange and neon pink. They are going to be wonderful for summer if they can hold up all my hair! Love this box even if it’s coming the same week as my February box.
Yay, I finally got my new camera all up and working. So I put this on last night, this is Teresa!
So this month Julep was trying out some polishes that left your nails looking suede. I thought that was pretty cool but was still unsure. I’m still on the fence and I’ve gotten my November box, ha! My “style” is Boho Glam and this month was going to be the suede’s…. until I decided I was unsure about the suede effect and I wasn’t a fan of my styles colours. I switched over to Bombshell this round. I’m not sad that I did! Two beautiful colours with the same quality as past, Donna, smokey peacock blue creme and Trina, deep purple shimmer. I’m wearing Donna right now and can’t stop loving it. You also get this pink body frosting which is Pink Grapefruit scented. Oh.my.GOD. It smells like candied grapefruit and the texture is like whipped butter. It’s not greasy but it is thicker. I like thin lotions but I will use this when feeling like I need something a bit more…..decadent. Now, I also got a bonus item:
Julep Nail Polish remover pads. I cannot comment on them as of yet because I haven’t tried them. I will however update this post or do another post with this added in, once I try them. I do like the idea of them.
I should be getting my Topbox in today so I’m excited!!! I’ll keep you posted.
I guess I should review the October Julep Maven Box before my November one comes this week.
So this is what I got from Julep for the month of October. It also came with candy corn, which I thought was such a cute touch. There was also a bonus Halloween glitter pot set.
The reason I didn’t love this months box was no one’s fault but my own. I was taking a risk because I had never owned a crackle before and I thought maybe it would be neat to have one. So Hermione, which is the white polish – is a crackle. The other polish is a nice light toned grey called Lisa. Lisa is pretty but not breathtaking and Hermione is something I could live without. Now having owned a crackle I know for sure I’m not a huge fan. It does crackle nicely, it does it’s job right, I’m just not a fan. The glitter is a nice touch though I found they were very difficult to put on. It could be that I’m just not an expert at putting glitter on nails but the pots are so tiny and then trying to get the glitter to fall properly on your wet nails – it was just rough! I will try it again eventually. The star in this box, for me, is the Quick Dry Polish Drops. I don’t know how I’ll ever naturally let my nails dry again. These drops are fantastic! My nails dry within seconds of putting just one drop on. If you are sensitive to fragrance though, careful. It has a very, very strong lavender scent. At first it was even a little overwhelming for me. If you can get past that though, the smell doesn’t last long and your nails dry in no time. I now don’t have to worry about long days, changing my nail polish and then having to wait to go to bed until my nails dry.
Again, these polishes had fantastic coverage and the only regret I have is my own for not choosing a box without crackle. I am still completely in love with the program and I look forward to receiving my November box. Julep
I’m also excited to say I signed up for a monthly beauty box called Top Box. It’s supposed to ship out November 10th. I’m super excited and super nervous at the same time. I’ve heard huge hits and huge misses, so I’m hoping my first one (and all the rest, really) is not a dud.
Julep Maven, I love you. So, I figured I should probably review my September Julep Maven box before I receive my October one. In my box I got a closer-to-turquoise green called Popova and a beautiful dark royal blue called Gunta. Both go on with the same thickness as the first two I received. I also got a lengthening mascara in brown, which is rubber bristled and double sided. One side has the applicator and the other side is a brush, to brush out any clumping. I love it! I just wish it had been in black. It’s nice for a bare-faced kind of day though.
I did get a free add on, though I’m not sure why. It’s called Alma, and though it looks like a bright yellow, when you get it, it is actually more of a mustard yellow, almost Dijon. I don’t love the yellow but I have used it as an accent over another colour, so that’s alright. I’m super excited to receive my October box and I still think every girl who loves polish needs to get these boxes!!!!
I know, it’s been almost 1 whole month since I’ve done an entry. I apologize! Life has kind of been changing for me. I joined a gym and tried hot yoga for the first time, yowza! I also got a new job where I will be your wonderful specialist on skincare brands such as Tanda, StriVectin and Skyn Iceland as of October 1st! Yay!!! So, I have tons of things to blog about, but let’s just start slowly here. I started the Julep Maven monthly boxes and couldn’t love them more. I will show you what I got as my “Introduction” set.
So this was my personal Introductory Box. There are 5 Style Profiles which are American Beauty, Boho Glam, Bombshell, Classic with a Twist and It Girl. You take a very short “quiz” and the site determines which profile will fit you best. My results landed me in the Boho Glam category. Landing my Toni (purple) and Sasha (pinky-coral), as well as the Pedi Creme. What I love about The monthly boxes, is the fact that you have a window of time where you can see what you will be getting for the month and if you don’t like what your style has to offer, you can change it to a different style! You only have about 4 days to do so, though. You can also either skip it for that month or send it to a friend. LOVE it.
Now, as for the polish themselves I really do enjoy it. It is a thicker polish, so if you get it right the first time you don’t need to apply another coat of colour. In saying this, I do find a lot comes out with the brush even when you try to remove the excess, so keep an eye on that. The pedi creme hasn’t wow’ed me but it does make my feet a bit softer. I think I would stick with some of my Gehwol products instead.
If you have $20 or so extra a month and you love polish, I think you would absolutely love this program. I look forward to every month. I have my September box and I will blog about that later. So give this a check!
